Rebecca is an undergraduate student double-majoring in Biology and Philosophy at Whitworth University. Her passion for whales began as a childhood obsession that has since developed into an interest in cetacean research. It was this long-standing passion that led her to Cascadia, where she currently works as an intern for the Hawai’i Photo Identification Project.
Prior to her involvement with Cascadia, Rebecca did research on middle Miocene cetacean fossils from Sharktooth Hill, Kern County, CA. She has also collected trilobite fossils in Eastern Washington with the Northwest Paleontological Association.
In addition to her studies, Rebecca works in Whitworth’s greenhouse. Her hobbies include running, hiking, fossil collecting, and birding.
